Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) in 2025 will be held from April 25–27. It’s the world’s largest youth service event, with millions of young people participating in over 100 countries.
In commemoration of this month, Ajalon Int’l Charity, Inc., USA will host its educational Workshop/Seminar for the Scholarship beneficiaries on April 19th and 20th, 2025 in Ibadan, Nigeria.
One of the highlights of this event is the Bert Leon Strong Scholarship Award where students are asked to prepare a six-page essay.
The theme for this year is ‘Building Authenticity in an Artificial Intelligence (AI) World: I Think, therefore, I Am.’
Students will define what authenticity means to their identity as they prepare to enter the workplace after achieving their college degrees; How they would use AI responsibly to effect meaningful change in the workplace; What human thinking skills are important in making decisions that will promote the greater good in the organizations they will enter after graduation; How they will build these skills of thinking critically into their authentic self during their college years, and a Conclusion.
The first three contestants will receive Plaques and Monetary Awards. The students with the best ten essays will have the opportunity to present their work to Ariel Foundation International (AFI), a registered United Nations non-governmental organization, which is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Foundation promotes partnerships, peace, and prosperity. The president of AFI, Dr. Ariel Rosita King will be a virtual Guest at the Workshop.
Students will also have the opportunity to have their essays published on the AFI publication’s platform.
